Yoo hoo. Me again. It just hit me that this is where you might respond to my remark. I’ve been in my winter mu-mu, with a tall glass of Sanka, waiting for an answer. I don’t know where I thought it would come from. I just thought, well, Sprague isn’t talking to me.

Here we are at your kitchen table. Lovely. Your attempt at artfullness worked brilliantly! Fading Nana is so right for Maggie’s story.

Your first comment here! Welcome to my little burrow on the Net. It feels a little odd that someone who knows me in “real life” is commenting — like you just caught me in my housecoat with curlers in. But fun!

As for the color — that’s my little attempt at being artful. The original photo was b/w and I hand colored all except Nana to suggest that she was fading away. Alright, so Picasso I ain’t.

Don’t you find it stricking that in this photo, Maggie is full of the color of youth and Nana appears very nearly in black and white?

Aatom honeybunch, I’m sorry I didn’t see your comment sooner — fighting spam, etc.

It really happened. Even as a kid I was amazed at the metaphors my sister’s brain came up with. That as much as anything else told me there’s more to this world than can be explained.

beautiful story. one of those that, if not real, would seem almost too precious. I love the imagery of her aging in reverse to die, it’s a rather sophisticated concept for such a young girl.
