As a kid, having a real haunted house in the family was scary-cool. I was sorry she sold it. I'm split-brained about things like this: forebrain says "poltergeists don't exist"; amygdala says "you're dammed right they do!" There are other spook stories in my family. Maybe I'll follow this up by telling the story of how my sister "dreamed" my grandmother to death -- it's a good one. Aatom,

There are other spook stories in my family. Maybe I’ll follow this up by telling the story of how my sister “dreamed” my grandmother to death — it’s a good one.

I'm an open-minded skeptic in all things, but there are some forces in nature that obviously defy easy explanation. My father is a realtor, and was once part of a small company in VA that rented a gaint old house for their offices. Several times I was there helping him open up the house for business, I heard the distinct sound of a swinging bench on the large front porch. It was a creepy enough sound, so I went to investigate but there was no swinging bench out there at all. I love the sense of spine-tingling mystery that these things evoke. Great story.
